We all remember how, at the end of 2017, The Greatest Showman and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle completely smashed the box office, in spite of not having the biggest budgets. You would think that would make the producer want to continue this success with a sequel. But reports suggests other plans are on the agenda.
The Greatest Showman may be setting its sights on Broadway for the chapter to come.
Rumour's speculate that an apparent Broadway project had been in motion when the soundtrack for The Greatest Showman was being written and the movie was coming together, although the Twentieth Century Fox crew didn't believe that the risk would pay off in returns from the box office.
At present, the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman is a great UK hit, and a Broadway stint is being fast-tracked over.
We don't really find this surprising. The director of The Greatest Showman, Michael Gracey, has said previously that he believes a musical would be an excellent idea. We think so too. 💃
