There is much to appreciate about the clean-eating movement. We are grateful that healthy living is trending and that vegan's are being criticised less and less for opting for a lifestyle that will only benefit the environment, as well as their bodies. The good-food trend and craze has led to multiple Instagram accounts, Twitter feeds and online blogs, giving us daily, healthy inspiration on healthy meals to cook, restaurants to visit and smoothies to make.
But as much as it is inspiring, this movement is also exhausting. Sometimes we don't always need people barking up our hind legs, telling us what, and what not to eat. You shouldn't need permission to eat something delicious, if it makes you happy!
That's where #EatWhatYouWantDay comes in. This day is not a day for diets, tiny portions and staring longingly at that fudge cake in Tesco, today, although you shouldn't feel controlled on any other day. You need to allow yourself to indulge! Here are a few recipes for you to delight in.
You don't even need to go to the beach to get a taste of the seaside. Simply cook up some beer-battered fish and double-cooked chips. It takes just over an hour to make and requires quite a bit of care, patience and focus. It may take time, but it's certainly worth the wait. Oh-so delicious, this recipe is not lacking in flaky fish, crispy batter and fluffy and crunchy textured chips. Drooling yet? It get's better..
Containing both squidgy goodness and warmth, this desert is soon to become one of your favourites. Yes, it may be fried and yesss the calories are sky-high, but we don't care one teeny tiny bit. It's decadent, delicious and dreamy. You can't say no to that.
This is what you must eat as a belated breakfast/lunch today, or perhaps as a cheeky dessert. Creamy chocolate and freshly sliced banana, we can't really think of many greater combinations. Once you've tried this, you're going to struggle going back to your ham and cheese toastie, we guarantee. Don't feel guilty, relish this!
These burgers are just oozing with flavour, the bacon and liquid smoke just makes them taste like the outdoors. They're extra juicy too. Have a couple, or a few, or as Michael Jackson said, don't stop til you get enough!
Chicken Milanese is probably at it's peak when you serve it immediately while it's hot and crispy from the stove. And unlike your standard salad, you just know that this will live you satisfied. Don't get us wrong, we're not trying to encourage obesity here, but rather, let you know that there's nothing wrong with eating what you love once in a while, nothing wrong with it at all.
I guess you can describe this one as a twist on mac and cheese, with a crunchy topping of nuts and bread and added vegetables. Enjoy this one in the evening with your family, they will ADORE it. Just make sure you use a big enough dish.
