As an aspect of the governments ambition to improve the treatment of mental illness in young people, help with mental health will now be provided in schools.

Under the £300 million government overhaul, youth in England will given greater access to mental health support at college or school.

As apart of this plan, each and every school in England will be advised to elect an "senior lead" of whom will work with present support services.

Senior leads will be designated the responsibility of ensuring that every pupil is able to access pastoral support and that relevant policies exist to eliminate bullying and any other behaviours that produce mental issues.

These leads will be supported by the production of mental health support teams to strengthen connections between the NHS and schools in addition to giving out specialist support and treatments in or near colleges and schools.
