Scrap your summer schedule, these new TV shows have given us a perfectly valid reason to stay inside our hovels. Although spells of sunshine will inevitably have us skipping to the beach to catch some rays -- TV is too hot right now spend all your moments away from the couch. Stay tuned for these definite hits:
“Dietland” (AMC, June 4)
Marti Noxon, the show's creator, has set himself up for quite a summer, with a couple of the new series debuting: HBO’s “Sharp Objects.” and “Dietland”. Nevertheless, while the AMC drama may not obtain a lot of Oscar winners, it does have spectacular premises: a slightly ominous comedy concerning women occupying the world on their own terms. It will take it's basis from the 2015 book by Sarai Walker.
“Succession” (HBO, June 3)
Possessing a strong cast of players in the roles (Matthew Macfadyen, Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, and Alan Ruck), the series will take a darkly humorous gaze at the prospective disentegration of a global media empire. With an added family power struggle layer, giving the show another dimension of complexity, this is definitely a show you should give some focus to.
“C.B. Strike” (Cinemax, June 1)
“C.B. Strike” will star Holliday Grainger and Tom Burke. It will cover three of the novels (“The Silkworm,” “The Cuckoo’s Calling,” and “Career of Evil”) that were written by Rowling under the pseudonym, Robert Galbraith.
